When you decide to come up for air, take a moment to savor some of Cozumel’s land-based sights. Mayan, as well as pre-Hispanic, ruins are a popular attraction on the island. At San Gervasio, the biggest archaeological site on the island, you can stroll through centuries of Mayan culture and its various mysteries. And for something slightly more energetic, head back to San Miguel de Cozumel for entertainment until sunrise, which is, after all, just another way to pass the time until you slip your snorkel mask back on.
